At MTS we design high quality training programmes in pharmaceutical analysis. A bespoke design service is available. We also design online, pre-prepared training courses for in-house use: our UTrain package. A bespoke design service for UTrain modules is also available. Please contact us to discuss your design requirements.
The learning need identified in stage 1 of the training cycle defines the learning objectives for the required training. These may be addressed by a generic pre-prepared course, or may require the design of tailor made training. MTS courses incorporate the theoretical principles of pharmaceutical analysis alongside the application of the appropriated techniques so that learners are equipped to go straight from the course into the laboratory.

The following three elements are considered during the design stage of MTS training courses:
The learning objectives for the training define the required content. All MTS courses are based around clearly defined learning objectives. The content is primarily related to pharmaceutical analysis, e.g. HPLC analysis of pharmaceuticals, but training on supporting skills and knowledge used in the workplace may also provided. Examples are: report writing; presentation skills; and train the trainer (aimed primarily at laboratory techniques).
It is known that adults learn best when: the content is relevant to their job roles; they can apply the learning to real situations; the learning is structured in a logical order; and they feel comfortable in the learning environment. Real examples and case studies are used extensively in MTS courses, the content is presented in a suitable progression of topics, and exercises and discussion are used to involve all learners and create a comfortable and productive learning environment.
Probably the easiest learning style model to understand is the VARK (visual, auditory, reading, kinaesthetic) model. This basically means that some people prefer to learn by seeing, some by hearing, some by reading, and some by doing. MTS training courses are designed to appeal to different learning styles by placing emphasis on each of these elements at different times.
MTS provides high quality supporting materials to accompany each course. These are designed with meticulous attention to detail, and they are fully up to date with the latest relevant technology. They may be accessed during and post training through our virtual environment for learning, e-MTS. Typical learning aids include:
